Composites One agrees to acquire PolyGard
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – Composites One has reached an agreement to acquire the assets of PolyGard, Inc., which is the largest independent regional distributor of composite materials in the Southeast, according to a statement from the company yesterday.
PolyGard services customers primarily in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and North and South Carolina from locations in Tampa and Fort Myers, Fla., and Acworth, Ga.
“PolyGard has an outstanding service reputation and will give Composites One expanded coverage in these markets,” the company stated. “PolyGard customers will benefit from a broader product offering in addition to the value added services that Composites One currently provides. This acquisition, the fifth in eight years for Composites One, continues to reinforce Composites One as the leading supplier of composite materials in North America.”
Leon Garoufalis, Composites One president and COO, highlighted PolyGard’s “solid reputation for service and customer focus” and committed to working toward “a seamless transition” in an effort to “leverage the strengths of both organizations to further benefit customers.”
Glenn Emerson, PolyGard president and CEO, said, “Composites One is known for value-added services and execution.” He pointed out Composites One’s “experience in successfully consolidating acquisitions” and “care for their employees.”
“I believe the standard and tradition of outstanding service that we have created at PolyGard will continue within Composites One,” he added.
National composite materials distributor Composites One serves customers from over 33 stocking locations in North America, offering composites fabricators and molders over 1,000 different products from over 200 suppliers through its technical sales and customer service force. The company said it also offers value-added services that include customized logistics services, technical applications reviews, and regulatory compliance assistance.
