Boating Industry Intelligence You Can Profit From
Germany-based Torqeedo GmbH, a manufacturer of high-tech electric outboards, has set up operations in Hawthorn Woods, Ill., in an attempt to better serve its U.S. customers, the company announced recently.
Company co-founder and managing partner Christoph Ballin announced the formation of Torqeedo Inc., and has named Olaf Knueppel, previously the international sales director, as president of Torqeedo Inc.
“Our objective is to establish the Torqeedo brand quickly in the United States and build up distribution,” said Knueppel.
Before joining Torqeedo in 2005, Knueppel served as president for the Aqua Signal Corp. and was in charge of the company’s U.S. business and its worldwide recreational division.
