Tennessee marina opens to public

ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. – The 161-slip Harpeth Shoals Marina on Cheatham Lake, which opened to the public on March 24, is the first marina to open in Middle Tennessee in 31 years, developers reported in a recent statement.

The 10-acre marina includes 161 boat slips, fuel dock, public launch, transient moorage and a Dockmaster quarters. The Dockmaster quarters will immediately serve as the new sales office for Harpeth Shoals Marina and The Braxton Condominiums and will also provide fuel services, docking and other nautical needs and boating accessories for marina patrons.

Developers also launched the final sales phase for The Braxton Condominiums last weekend. Eighty-six of the 136 units at The Braxton were under contract by the end of the initial sales phase in September 2006, leaving just 50 units to be sold during the final phase. Buyers have paid 10 percent of the total cost for units ranging in price from $450,000 to $1.2 million representing $43 million in total value, the developers reported.

The project will also include The Bridge Restaurant, which will offer waterside dining, take-out for boaters, a lounge and live music.
