LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Brunswick Corp. has reached an agreement with General Motors to provide supplier pricing on automobiles to qualified marine dealers who carry Brunswick boats or engines, the company reported in a statement today.
However, those dealers qualifying for the discounts may be a fairly small group. Only those dealerships achieving the top tier platinum level in Brunswick Dealer Advantage program are eligible to receive the discounted pricing. That limits the discounts to those dealers with a minimum of 75 percent of their retail business dedicated to Brunswick boats.
The discounts will be offered on many new and unused General Motors vehicles including 2006, 2007 and 2008 passenger cars, sport utility vehicles, vans and light duty trucks, Brunswick said. The Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Hummer H1 and medium duty vehicles are excluded from this program. General Motors brands include Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac, GMC, Saturn, Hummer, Saab and Cadillac. This pricing also will be available to qualified dealership employees.
“Dealer Advantage is a suite of products and services available to each qualified dealer that stands to reduce their operating expenses, improve their employee retention and enhance the retail customer experience,” said Brunswick Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dustan E. McCoy. “This recent addition – the GM Supplier Discount – can help qualified dealers reduce expenses when it comes to purchasing vehicles for company or personal use. Equally important is that qualifying dealers can share this benefit with their employees so they can buy cars or trucks for their personal use at attractive prices.”
Brunswick Dealer Advantage features three levels of participation – silver, gold and platinum – each based on the amount of the dealership’s retail business dedicated to Brunswick boats and/or engines. The stronger the partnership with Brunswick, the higher the dealership’s level of eligibility and the more benefits they can access through Dealer Advantage.
“Our relationship with Brunswick affords us access to the top marine dealers in the nation,” said GMC Promotions Manager David Pettit. “It has the potential to give our brands even stronger exposure in a very distinguished market. It’s a good fit.”
