Cigarette launches “Super Yacht” division

OPA-LOCKA, Fla. – Performance boat builder Cigarette Racing Team has created a new division – Cigarette Super Yachts – that will apply its performance heritage to a new 55-foot luxury motor cruiser, the company reported in a statement yesterday.

“A Cigarette boat comfortably thrills five to six guests, but what do you do when you need more space?” asked Skip Braver, Cigarette president and CEO. “We decided to build a Cigarette for all your friends.”

Cigarette will feature a video of the final sea-trials in the Mediterranean with a display of photographs of the new 55-foot “super yacht” in the Cigarette booth at the Miami International Boat Show, kicking off later this week. Initial figures put the speeds at 46 mph with twin MAN Marine 800 hp diesel inboards. With an optional package of dual MAN Marine 1100 hp diesel engines and Arneson Surface Drives the yacht’s top speed will be 61 mph, according to the boat builder.

The 55-foot Cigarette Super Yacht will be delivered to the U.S. this April. The company said Cigarette Super Yachts will introduce building processes never before used in U.S. boat building.
