Yamaha rebuilding its dealer training programs

KENNESAW, Ga. – Yamaha Marine Group has taken several steps designed to enhance its Yamaha University dealer training programs, including forging agreements with two prominent marine-industry trainers and a well-known national marketing firm, it reported in a recent statement.

“We are building a team, not outsourcing a function,” said Martin Peters, Yamaha Marine Group dealer education manager. “Our plan is to bring together the best instructors, curriculum developers and other service providers to create the most valuable dealer training programs in the industry.”

Well-known outboard industry trainers Valerie Ziebron and Noel Osborne are now working exclusively for Yamaha in the marine realm to provide both strategic counsel and curriculum development for Yamaha University, the company reported.

“Valerie and Noel were instrumental in our previous YU Strategic Dealer Management Symposium and very popular with the enrolled dealers. We are glad to have them with us for the future,” said Peters.

In addition, Yamaha selected Jackson-Dawson Marketing Solutions, a Greenville, S.C., company, to assist with content development and assume overall project management and logistics fulfillment for its two-day Program Resource Orientation (PRO) workshops. The PRO workshops acquaint new dealers with the people and resources at Yamaha Marine Group.

The Yamaha University PRO workshops are scheduled for Feb. 27-28,
March 1-2, March 13-14, and March 15-16. Yamaha University is in the process of confirming dealer registrations and soliciting attendees.
