Dock Edge+ acquires L.E.A.D. Group

BRAMPTON, Ontario, Canada – Dock Edge+ Inc. acquired all the intellectual properties and assets of L.E.A.D. Group Inc. as of Nov. 10, the company reported in a recent statement.

This is one of many acquisitions for the company, which was founded in 1991 as a manufacturer of dock bumper systems and mooring accessories.

In 1997, Dock Edge+ Inc. acquired Howell Mfg., a metal fabricating company manufacturing dock hardware, which allowed it to not only to expand in the marine markets, but also to enter into the retail hardware market by offering a complete line of dock manufacturing products.

In 2001, it acquired Dolphin International, a roto-molding company manufacturing boat fenders and life-rings, allowing it to continue growing market share by entering into the aftermarket accessory business as a “one stop shop” for marine distributors, hardware retailers such as Home Depot and Menards, and retailers such as Bass Pro, Boater’s World, Cabela’s, Overtons and West Marine, the company reported.

With its newest acquisition, the company said it would begin its entry into developing products for the OEM market.

“As a vertically integrated company, we have the ability to work together with boat and dock manufacturers on customizing existing products and developing new products to meet their needs,” Dock Edge+ stated.
