Mercury University adds to its offerings

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – In conjunction with its Dealer Service Development Series, Mercury University has initiated the Service Management Institute, Mercury said in a press release Thursday.

Mercury’s Service Management Institute is designed to bring instructor-lead training to non-technical dealer service personnel. Beginning in December, Mercury’s SMI will host two-day classes at regional locations throughout the United States.

Participating authorized Mercury dealers must complete four Dealer Service Development Series training modules (Parts Counter Skills, Service Transaction Skills, Warranty Administration and CSI) prior to registering for SMI.

After fulfilling the prerequisite requirements and registering for SMI, dealers will be sent a list of items and information to bring to the SMI session. Using information from appropriate dealerships, SMI will provide a combination of tools, best practices, lean management philosophies and interactive discussions to help each individual develop a plan to simultaneously increase profits and customer satisfaction.
