IMI fall classes sold out

WARREN, R.I. – The International Marina Institute, a subsidiary of the Association of Marina Industries, is urging students to enroll or apply early for its spring Intermediate Marina Management and Advanced Marina Management courses, AMI said in a release yesterday.

The November IMM classes, as well as the November (Barcelona) and December AMM classes have completely sold out. The next IMM course takes place in Olympia, Wash., from Feb. 25 to March 1, and the next AMM program is scheduled to be held March 26-31 in Newport, R.I.

“At this point in time, the classes are selling out very quickly,” said Jim Frye, AMI president. “We encourage those who wish to become Certified Marina Managers, to enroll or apply as soon as possible in order to ensure a spot.”

Candidates must successfully complete the IMM course in order to enroll in the AMM school, which in turn qualifies one to obtain the “Certified Marina Manager,” or CMM, designation.

“Not everyone is accepted into the AMM and, with limited seats available, it’s important to start the process now,” Frye said.
