GEM named Preferred Supplier
ORANGE PARK, Fla. – GEM has been chosen as the American Boatbuilders Association Preferred Supplier of Choice for Stainless Steel Hardware, GEM said in a statement Oct. 24. The recognition is a result of years of engineering and creative innovation and a singular focus on providing the best stainless steel hardware on the market today, the company said.
“ABA is one of the most well-respected boat building groups in the industry,” said Matt Bridgewater, GEM president. “Their endorsement is not only an honor but a tremendous opportunity to expand our reach to our customers through the collective buying power of the organization.”
During the past decade, GEM has steadily increased engineering capacity, providing numerous product enhancements and new product introductions that have lead to eight years of double digit sales growth. The company will continue this innovation at IBEX with the introduction of a new Boat Drainage System called AquaLux, which improves drainage durability and functionality on boats.
“ABA members are pleased that we have chosen GEM as our preferred supplier,” said Jay Patton, ABA president. “Their engineering capabilities were a deciding factor, enabling us to continually rely on them for quality products and new product designs upon request.”
The ABA is a coalition of 13 leading independent U.S. boat manufacturers. ABA member companies have approximately 5,000 employees in the United States, with 15 facilities in 9 states. ABA companies produce more than 15 percent of all the boats above 16 feet built in the United States.
