Sailboat show to feature powerboats

ST PETERSBURG, Fla. – For the first time, the 12th annual Strictly Sail St. Petersburg Boat Show, to be held at Spa Beach at The Pier along Florida’s Gulf Coast, Nov. 2-5, will feature trawlers and power cruisers, organizers reported in a recent statement.

Many sailboat builders are experimenting with the addition of powerboats, Sail America explained. The all-new Trawler and Power Cruiser Expo is sponsored by Power Cruising magazine.

New 2007 models of Beneteau, Catalina, Hunter, Island Packet, Hanse and many more will debut in the water and on land at the show. Additionally, over 150 exhibitors with the latest sailing gear and accessories will be displayed. More than 100 seminars will include deliberations from global sailors, authors and experts in navigation, software and marine equipment, said organizers.

Strictly Sail St. Petersburg is co-produced by Sail America, a non-profit association that represents the sailing industry and the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA). Participating sponsors are: Hunter Marine, West Marine, The Moorings and Kincaid’s Steak House.
