Marine Concepts names sister company for non-marine biz

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Marine Concepts will place non-marine design and tooling work under JRL Ventures, Inc., which has been the parent company of Marine Concepts since its purchase in 1994 by J. Robert “Bob” and Karen Long, reported General Manager Matt Chambers in a recent statement.

For over 30 years, Marine Concepts has provided design services and producing tooling for not only the marine industry, but for aerospace, theme park, RV, architecture, and transportation projects. Planned growth in these diverse areas brought about the need for a name that would not give potential customers the perception that the company limits its work to the marine industry, according to the company.

“JRL Ventures will operate hand-in-hand with Marine Concepts and will cover all projects not boating related,” said Chambers. “Staffing at our three facilities has increased nearly 50 percent in the last year due to aggressive recruiting of talented engineers and experienced production workers. We are poised to continue excellent service to Marine Concepts’ customers and take on additional work under JRL Ventures.”

JRL Ventures will make its first appearance as an exhibitor at the ACMA Composites & Polycon 2006 show in St. Louis, Oct. 18-21.
