Growth drives expansion for engine distributor

CARROLLTON, Texas – Tohatsu America Corp. (TAC), the US and Canadian distributor of Tohatsu and Nissan Marine outboard motors, is moving to new, larger headquarters in November, it reported in a recent statement.

The move is scheduled to take place the week of November 6 and be completed by November 13, according to the company. The new headquarters, which is 45-percent larger than the previous one, is located at 2005 Valley View Lane, Suite 200, Farmers Branch, TX 75234, just a few miles from the current location in Carrollton. Both are northern suburbs of Dallas.

“The reason for the move is the tremendous growth we have experienced over the past few years, continued expansion of our market share and demand for our products and our projected growth in the future,” said TAC President Hiro Wakabayashi. “We have greatly expanded warehouse space as well as personnel offices and a special area has been set aside exclusively for training our dealers to certify them in our TDLI (Tohatsu Low-pressure Direct Injection) technology outboards.”

TAC’s parent company in Japan recently opened a new manufacturing facility capable of producing 200,0000 outboards per year, the distributor reported. With the U.S. and Canada two of the company’s largest markets, greatly increased distribution was a necessity to accommodate both growing demand and growing manufacturing capability, the company explained.
