Sumerset Houseboats goes international
SOMERSET, Ky. – Sumerset Houseboats has made a decision to place far more emphasis on the vast potential of markets outside the United States, the company said in a statement yesterday. Among other measures, the boatbuilder will be upgrading the level of services and support to existing customers, while expanding distribution in markets not traditionally served. An international sales team joined Sumerset Oct. 1.
Hernan Garcia is Argentinean and has been living in the United States for the last 15 years. Garcia is a naval engineer and has had international sales and business development experience with numerous recreational boat brands.
Barry Bailey was born in the United States, but has been living in the Asia-Pacific region for the last 17 years, currently based in Australia. Bailey is a certified captain and avid boater and brings experience in managing marine sales and business development in many countries to his new position.
Gerard Goosen was born and lives in the Netherlands. Through many years in the marine retail and wholesale business, Goosen brings business development knowledge and hands-on dealer operational improvement practices.
