Trinity Yachts expanding its workforce
NEW ORLEANS, La. – Trinity Yachts, LLC is hiring more employees following the reopening of its original shipyard, located on the Industrial Canal in the Eastern section of New Orleans, last month, it reported in a recent statement.
The New Orleans shipyard will continue building luxury custom yachts up to 161 feet in length and will now also become the center for repair and refit as the company continues to expand its line of luxury superyachts.
“We are very excited to announce that since Hurricane Katrina, Trinity Yachts have signed up 7 additional contracts extending the backlog to 18 superyachts and 39 months of work,” said John Dane III, president. “With this increased backlog of work, Trinity is taking applications for all crafts, engineers and naval architects at this time, at both the New Orleans and Gulfport facility.”
The 38-acre yard with almost 10 acres of covered building area suffered badly from the effects of the hurricane water and almost 70 percent of the work force lost their homes, according to the company. After power, communications and general infrastructure returned to the yard and using about 20 local employees to continue the clean-up and repairs, Trinity officially reopened its doors on July 5 after spending ten months on clean up.
Trinity said it plans to initially hire approximately 100 employees at this facility with a gradual increase as the continuing repair work at the site is completed.
