Decline in powerboat sales may flatten

MIAMI – The downward turn experienced by the powerboat market this year appears to be flattening out, according to Info-Link’s Bellwether Report, which has been updated through July.

“The adjusted numbers certainly aren’t cause for celebration, however, it does bear watching the 3 and 6 month comparisons,” said Jesse Wells, director of sales and marketing at Info-Link. “While the 12-month curve is more accurate in terms of smoothing out the noise that naturally occurs in the data, the shorter term comparisons seem to foretell a leveling off of the downward cycle.”

The graphs, which are based on registrations of powerboats 15 feet in length and above, can be viewed online at: www.info-link.com/bellwetherreport.asp.
