Fountain Powerboats enters international markets with dealer network expansion

WASHINGTON, N.C. – Fountain Powerboat Industries, Inc. has added two new dealerships, bringing the domestic and international dealers total to 64, the manufacturer said in a statement Wednesday.

“We are pleased to welcome BlackFish Marine, located on Grandville Island, Vancouver, British Columbia, as our newest international dealer,” said Reggie Fountain, CEO and Chairman. “BlackFish is one of Western Canada’s largest yacht dealers and is augmenting its current product inventory with Fountain Powerboats. We look forward to having BlackFish Marine President Greg Hughes and his sales and marketing and customer service teams provide Canadian boaters with Fountain boats.”

Fountain Powerboats, through its Fountain Worldwide group, currently has 12 dealers throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia and just expanded its dealer network with the addition of Nautilux in Italy and 1st 4boats in the United Kingdom.

“We have experienced significant growth within our international sales group,” said David Knight, president. “In fiscal 2005 revenue from international sales was approximately $2 million. We just completed fiscal 2006 and expect international sales to be approximately $7.5 million, a 275 percent increase over last year. To further grow international sales, Fountain Powerboats will be represented in nine international boat shows during the 2007 season.”

“We are also pleased to welcome Fisherman’s Boat Group to our domestic dealer network,” Fountain said. “Located in Miami, Fla., the Fisherman’s management team, headed up by President Garrett Hayim, will represent Fountain Powerboats’ three product lines in Miami and Dade County.”
