Auto supplier enters marine industry

ELKHART, Ind. – Automotive industry supplier ACTIA Corp. is entering the marine industry, the company reported in a recent statement.

The manufacturer of data bus gauges has hired the Gartner Group to provide marine representation in the southeastern U.S., it added.

“The marine market’s shift to data bus communications (SmartCraft, NMEA 2000) has allowed us to bring our 25 years of automotive data bus management experience to the marine industry,” Said Dave Long, ACTIA regional sales manager. “It has become a wonderful fit!”

In addition to a its data bus gauges, ACTIA offers displays, power management and diagnostic tools.

The company said its products allow boat builders to use a single gauge configuration to interface with all engine types, with one part number and the ability to differentiate themselves by customizing software and hardware.
