NMMA releases upgraded MDX software program
CHICAGO – The National Marine Manufacturers Association has released a version upgrade for its Marine Data Exchange supply chain program, the organization said in a statement yesterday.
NMMA will demonstrate the software for the first time at the Marine Aftermarket Accessories Trade Show, July 19-21 at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel & Convention Center.
MDX Web 2.0 is an electronic data interchange solution used to trade business documents in real time. NMMA and the National Marine Distributors Association developed the program, which is used to electronically exchange business documents such as purchase orders, ship notices and invoices.
For some companies already trading on MDX, communication is via secure file transfer, using pre-formatted text files. The program’s enhanced Internet version makes MDX available to all marine industry accessory manufacturers, distributors, retailers and boatbuilders, regardless of size, NMMA said.
“This new release of MDX for the web adds significant functionality to the product,” said John Warnik, MDX program manager. “For companies looking to gain some quick efficiency with order and fulfillment processes, MDX Web 2.0 is an on-ramp to e-commerce.”
