Powerboat market dips further

MIAMI – The powerboat market continues to decline, compared to the same period of last year, according to Info-Link’s Bellwether Report, which has been updated through May.

“The broader 15-ft-plus powerboat market continues to ‘settle down’ from last year’s modest gain, which followed the spike in 2004,” commented Jesse Wells, director of Sales & Marketing at Info-Link. “Despite a healthy economy, negative reactions to fuel prices notwithstanding, the overriding effect we may be seeing is simply a down cycle, which always seems to follow an up cycle in the boating business.”

The graphs, which are based on registrations of powerboats 15 feet in length and above, can be viewed online at: www.info-link.com/bellwetherreport.asp.
