Crestliner receives safety award
LITTLE FALLS, Minn. – The Minnesota Safety Council has awarded a Governor’s Safety Award to Crestliner Boats for excellence in workplace safety and health, the company reported in a recent statement.
Crestliner Boats is one of the 191 employers (out of 447 entrants) who were recognized at the Governor’s Safety Awards luncheon at the Minneapolis Convention Center on May 12.
Crestliner Boats received a Meritorious Achievement Award, which recognizes better than average performance in incident rates, dependent on type of industry.
“On average, nearly 300 Minnesota workers are injured or become ill from job-related causes each day,” said Carol Bufton, president of the Minnesota Safety Council. “Smart employers like Crestliner Boats understand that a commitment to safety contributes to the health of their employees and their bottom line.”
Since 1934, the annual Governor’s Safety Awards have spotlighted Minnesota employers with above average safety records. Participants submit injury information, which is compared with state and national data as well as the entrant’s past performance. Ongoing safety programs and activities are also considered.
