Cobia anticipates growth at new N.C. facility

FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The new Cobia Boats facility in Marion, N.C., was the focus of the recent annual Cobia dealer meeting, the company reported in a statement Thursday.

Cobia recently moved boat production from its Fort Pierce facility to the 110,000 square foot plant located on 39 acres in Marion, about 35 miles outside of Asheville, N.C.

During the meeting, dealers were given a tour of the new facility, which currently employs 75 people. Cobia Boats President and CEO Scott Deal said the company estimates it will increase the number of employees to 300 by the third year as it ramps up production.
