Venture Marine plans for growth

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. – Semi-custom sportfishing boat builder Venture Marine expects to move into a new factory next month that will almost double its square footage, according to an article yesterday in the Palm Beach Post.

The company has invested $6 million in its new 76,000-square-foot Riviera Beach facility, which was formerly a furniture factory. The move is expected to be completed by July.

The new facility will allow Venture to consolidate its operations, previously spread between three buildings, and to grow its output and employee base. It currently builds about 40 boats per year with 73 employees, both of which are expected to grow significantly, according to the newspaper.

The high-end outboard sportfishing boats, which range from 23 to 39 feet in length, range in price from $50,000 to $400,000 and are sold through a network of 7 dealers, which Venture hopes to more than double this year, the newspaper reported.
