METS 2006 almost sold out
AMSTERDAM – Almost all stand space for METS 2006 has been sold six months before the show opens its doors to marine trade professionals, organizers reported in a recent statement.
METS product manager Irene Dros cited an unprecedented demand for exhibition space from previous exhibitors and new companies. METS 2006 will play host to over 1,000 companies from 34 different countries.
“We achieved record exhibitor numbers last year when METS moved to the larger Europa complex and it has been our challenge for 2006 to further expand the available space,” she said. “This has, however, sold out very swiftly. Consequently, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate everyone’s request for a larger stand, but of course will do our utmost to satisfy requests where we can.”
The last remaining stand space at METS is available in the enlarged SuperYacht Pavilion, solely reserved for companies involved in the large yacht sector. So far, over 30 companies have already booked stand space in the SuperYacht Pavilion.
This year’s event will feature The Yacht Report’s Project 2006 (aimed at the 40m+ sector) and the new broader superyacht conference – The Superyacht Business Forum – (aimed at the 24m+ sector).
In addition, the Technology Forum 2006, organized by European Boatbuilder, will again take place, and the biennial HISWA Symposium is scheduled for 13 and 14 November. This renowned forum, organized by HISWA Association, Delft University of Technology and Amsterdam RAI, will discuss research papers and studies aimed at exploring contemporary trends in design and construction of sail- and motor yachts.
METS 2006 will be held from 14 to 16 November.
