Boat show proceeds to benefit Freedom Waters Foundation

NAPLES, Fla. – The Freedom Waters Foundation will debut with a splash at the Marine Industries Association of Collier County’s Bayfront Marina Boat Show, June 17 and 18, the non-profit said in a statement Sunday. MIACC has chosen Freedom Waters Foundation as the charity of choice to benefit from boat show proceeds.

Freedom Waters Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides boating opportunities and marine-related education for people with special needs and youth at risk. Programs include: yacht outings for children with cancer/special needs and their families; all-inclusive sailing programs/regattas; and fishing programs. Freedom Waters Foundation currently operates in three Florida counties: Collier, Broward and Palm Beach; and aims to have these programs available nationwide.

Freedom Waters Foundation recruits boat owners, captains and marine industry vendors to mentor the participants, in turn building a greater sense of community. Participants come from a variety of social service agencies and local hospital referrals.
