ROCKLAND, Maine - Since Back Cove Yachts was launched in 2002, 2005 was the best sales year for the brand, according to its final sales report for the year, the company said in a statement today. Among the existing dealer network, Back Cove sales in 2005 were 20 percent higher than sales in 2004.
The company's new 240,000 square-foot manufacturing facility helped boost production and Black Cove yacht sales are expected to continue to rise. Increased production of the Back Cove 29 is projected to take the brand up another 15 percent in 2006.
A new model is scheduled to launch in late 2006 and the company projects Back Cove sales will double over the two-year period from 2005-2007, Back Cove said. Future additions to the line are already being considered.
