Spring Boating Expo attendance rises
LIVONIA, Mich. – The 14th annual Spring Boating Expo, which ran March 16-19 at the Rock Financial Showplace, finished up 23 percent, with a total of 18,630 people attending, said the Michigan Boating Industries Association, which produced the show. This was the expo’s first year at the Showplace, which was completed in August 2005.
“The new Rock Financial Showplace is definitely a draw for show goers,” said MBIA’s Nicki Polan. “RFS Management has indicated that every show has been up from 10 to 35 percent this year, and we are happy to have benefited from this interest as well.”
Other factors leading to the increase were a sold-out show, excellent “show” weather (cold and sunny), strong advertising, strong public relations and an increase in the number of exhibitors helping promote the show to their customers, MBIA said.
