Sales and attendance up at Everett Boat Show

EVERETT, Wash. – An estimated $3 million worth of boats were sold and the attendance jumped 34 percent during the 2006 Everett Boat Show, held March 9-12 at the Everett Events Center, the Northwest Marine Trade Association reported in a recent statement.

Buyers signed agreements on 97 boat sales during the show. Attendees buying a boat worth more than $2,000 earned a $200 gift certificate to Boater’s World. The average value of boats sold during the show was estimated at more than $30,000 – bringing the estimated value of total boats sold to $3 million.

“Not only were there a lot of deals made during the show but a lot of contacts were made where boats will be sold in the coming weeks,” said George Harris, boat show director. “That $3M mark only represents the sales made during the show itself. The Everett Boat Show has an even larger impact on boating in this region than that number reflects.”

Attendance increased significantly from last year despite the event being shortened by one day this year. Last year, 5,353 people attended the Everett show. This year, attendance was recorded at 7,161.
