Jupiter opens new facility
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. and PALMETTO, Fla. – Boat manufacturer Jupiter Marine International Holdings, Inc. has officially opened and begun production at its new, larger manufacturing facility in Palmetto, Fla., it reported in a press release Wednesday.
Jupiter Marine is hiring employees to satisfy existing orders and expects to hire additional staff as business conditions warrant.
The company intends to manufacture its new 29-foot forward seating center console model and a select number of Jupiter 31-foot models at its new facility. Other models will remain in production at the Jupiter Marine’s existing Fort Lauderdale facility.
“By establishing a presence on Florida’s west coast with the opening of our second manufacturing facility, Jupiter Marine will be able to provide our dealers and customers with both the products they desire and a quicker turnaround time from order date to delivery date,” said Carl Herndon, president. “It also achieves one of the Jupiter Marine’s primary goals, which was to increase production capacity and enable the company to accommodate higher volume.”
Herndon said the company is currently operating at near-full capacity at its Fort Lauderdale facilities, and it expect that the company’s gradual expansion in Palmetto could potentially double the number of boats it manufactures.
