MarineMax expands online presence

CLEARWATER, Fla. – In an effort to expand its online presence, boating and yachting retailer MarineMax has created the marine industry’s first eBay store which features competitive prices on not only parts, accessories and gear, but also on used boats, the company said in a press release Wednesday.

“Opening an online store is another avenue for us to connect with current and potential customers,” said Brett McGill, MarineMax’s vice president of information technologies, service, parts and accessories. “Now, in addition to visiting the 76 MarineMax dealerships across the country, people can log onto our eBay store 24 hours a day, seven days a week for instant access to high-quality marine products and even used boats.”

Developed over the past six months, the MarineMax eBay store features everything from wakeboard and water sport gear to boat parts, marine electronics and used boats. In addition to finding deals on accessories, the store is also a source for hard-to-find parts for older boats.

“We carry a huge variety of items in our eBay store,” said Rob Bowman, MarineMax eBusiness consultant and manager of the MarineMax eBay store. “We currently have a few hundred listings, but by April we expect to have a few thousand. Consistent with other eBay bargains, our products are offered at incredibly competitive prices.”

Products listed in the MarineMax eBay store come from the company’s dealerships throughout the country. They are offered in both auction-style and “Buy It Now” listings. New parts and accessories are added daily.
