Russo Marine buys Boston Sea Ray dealership
BOSTON, Mass. – New England boat dealer Russo Marine has purchased certain assets, goodwill and inventory of long-time Sea Ray dealer, Dedham Sportsmen’s Center, Inc., of Dedham, Mass, the company reported in a statement today.
Russo has also contracted to lease the former dealer’s showroom in Dedham, a showroom in Plymouth, Mass. as well as their marina and service facility on Boston Harbor, known as Thomas Marine. The three facilities will become additional “Russo Marine” locations. Russo intends to retain the current Dedham/Thomas workforce.
“Our company is growth-driven, profit-motivated and customer-focused and we have always strived to be on the leading edge of change and innovation in the marine industry,” said Larry Russo, Sr., president and CEO of the 65-year-old company. “The acquisition of the industry’s premier brand, Sea Ray, along with adding three more sales and service points, will further secure our position as the region’s market leader.”
Russo Marine is a third-generation, family-owned business established in 1940. It sells and services new and pre-owned boats up to 68 feet from six locations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
