CMI achieves ISO certification
NEENAH, Wis. – Custom Marine, Inc., a manufacturer and marketer of OEM and aftermarket exhaust headers and systems, has received registration to the International Organization of Standardization 9001:2000 certification, the company said in a release yesterday.
The registration, completed on Dec. 30, supports the scope of supply for the design and manufacture of high-performance marine exhaust and accessories, small engine mufflers and precision machining, according to the company.
“Achieving ISO 9001:2000 certification demonstrates our commitment to maintaining high standards of quality to enable us to compete on a global scale,” said Joe Zelinski, president of CMI. “This certification is a significant step toward assuring our customers that we are applying the highest standards in order to deliver the superior products and services they expect from an industry leader.”
CMI achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification by completing a rigorous registration audit conducted by Perry Johnson Registrars, Inc., an independent auditor that is one of the largest ISO 9001:2000 registrars in North America. To qualify for certification, CMI underwent a six-month process of auditing and assessing the company’s quality assurance systems against requirements for ISO certification.
“Achieving ISO certification validates our company’s commitment to quality and dedication to customer satisfaction,” Zelinski added. “We are determined to continue improving our processes and practices to make certain all CMI products continue to meet – and exceed – our customers’ expectations.”
ISO 9001:2000 is a comprehensive internationally-recognized standard that ensures an organization has the systems and processes in place to consistently manufacture products of high quality that meet customers’ high standards for quality and performance, while improving customer satisfaction.
To ensure that CMI maintains compliance with the ISO 9001:2000 quality management standards, PJR will perform semi-annual audits and will require re-registration once every three years.
