Regional certification workshop attracts 27 dealerships

OAK PARK, Ill. – The first regional Dealership Certification Launch Workshop, scheduled to take place Wed., Jan. 18 in Quincy, Mass., has attracted 27 dealerships for a total of 65 people, according to a recent statement from the Marine Retailers Association of America.

“This will be the first group of dealers, following the pilot dealers, to start their journey to certification,” said Phil Keeter, MRAA president. “It’s exciting to see how dealers are responding to this Grow Boating Initiative.”

The day-long launch workshop will follow the Massachusetts Marine Trades Association’s conference being held on Tues., Jan. 17. The MMTA conference is entitled “Business of Boating in Massachusetts.” This conference has attracted a record enrollment of nearly 200 participants.

“MMTA is serving as the host association for the Dealership Certification launch meeting and has worked tirelessly on coordinating enrollment and site details and we thank them for their assistance,” Keeter commented.

The next two sites for dealership certification meetings are Orlando, Fla. on Jan. 25, which is being hosted by the Marine Industries Association of Florida, and Novi, Mich. on Jan. 27, which will be hosted by the Michigan Boating Industries Association.

Dealers are encouraged to contact Marge Eckenroad, 708-763-9210 or mraa@mraa.com or visit www.growboating.org/service to enroll and reserve a slot. Some slots still remain in the two January meetings.
