BoatU.S. adds 56 Cooperating Marinas
ALEXANDRIA, Va. -The BoatU.S. Cooperating Marina program, which offers boaters discounts on frequently purchased items such as fuel, transient slips and boat repairs, has recently added 56 new participating marinas, bringing the total number of BoatU.S. Cooperating Marinas nationwide to 825, the association reported in a recent statement.
The program allows marina operators to select the discount they would like to offer BoatU.S. members: these can include up to $.10 per gallon discount on fuel; 25 percent discount on transient slips; or 15 percent off repairs.
The BoatU.S. Cooperating Marina Program was launched as a way to make recreational boating more affordable for consumers while providing incremental revenue to marina operators, according to BoatU.S.
“This is a benefit that provides real value to both the boater and marina owner,” said Jim Schofield, manager of the BoatU.S. Cooperating Marina Program. “Our members tell us it extends a great deal of loyalty towards a participating marina and leads them to return to the facility time and time again.”
Marinas in the program receive advertising support for local marketing efforts and are included in the annual BoatU.S. Member Services Directory that is distributed to over 630,000 association members.
