New Orleans Boat Show rescheduled for March 8-12, 2006

NEW ORLEANS – The 36th annual New Orleans Boat Show will take place Wednesday, March 8 to Sunday, March 12, 2006 in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, according to a press release from show producer the National Marine Manufacturers Association on Tuesday. The event was originally scheduled to take place from February 8 through February 12 at the Louisiana Superdome but has been moved and rescheduled due to damage following Hurricane Katrina.

“We are proud to be hosting the New Orleans Boat Show in this great city,” said Barbara Sclafani, show manager. “The boat show is not only a great event for boat enthusiasts but a perfect event for families and for people who love and want to support New Orleans and the entire Gulf South.”

In addition to featuring boats and marine equipment, the show will have marine electronics, personal watercraft, fishing accessories, vacation destination information, and activities and products for family fun in and on the water. Activities and special guests scheduled to appear during the five-day event include:

  • Discover Boating Center – Attendees will find answers to questions like what type of boat will complement their boating lifestyle and learn why “life is better with a boat.”
  • Gary Hain & the Travelin’ Fish Tank – A 40-foot aquarium stocked with live fish will be on hand with fishing seminars given by local, regional and national professionals.
  • IGX – Throughout the show, kids and young adults will be able to play the popular interactive game on site.
  • Miss New Orleans, Miss Teen New Orleans and Mrs. New Orleans – The Crescent City representatives will make appearances daily.
  • Prizes – Attendees can enjoy the Parade of Prizes with giveaways each day of the boat show.
