GLBF offers affiliation opportunities

CHICAGO – The Great Lakes Boating Federation will be introducing an industry affiliation program this fall and winter allowing marinas in the Great Lakes area to affiliate with the federation and have GLBF memberships for their mooring tenants included as part of the affiliation fee, GLBF said in a release today.

A reciprocity system among participating marinas and yacht clubs is also being offered to help marinas fill empty slips and at the same time provide discounted transient slips to boaters. The Great Lakes Boating Federation Web site will highlight events, boat shows, restaurants, hotels, shopping malls and leisure resort facilities near the marina being featured.

The GLBF’s new program will attempt to offer affiliations, competitively priced services, finances and business insurance to dealers, retailers and service providers. The program will assist the industry by offering opportunities to directly reach boaters through an effective and efficient marketing system that will include member rewards and discounts.

“The new affiliation program will be a win-win for both boaters and the industry,” said Ned Dikmen, chairman of the GLBF. “The industry will benefit from increased sales and boaters will enjoy the discounts and rewards being offered.”
