Super Yacht Awards bestowed at YachtFest San Diego
SAN DIEGO – The conclusion of YachtFest San Diego’s sixth annual show brought awards to three yachts, organizers reported in a recent release.
The awards, judged by designer Doug Sharp of Douglas Sharp Yacht Design, Inc., Kevin Merrigan from Northrup and Johnson Yacht Brokers, and Bruce Vandale of Showboats Magazine, chose boats in three categories: “People’s Choice,” “Best Interior” and “Best in Show.”
The Sojourn, a 130′ super yacht built by Gambol Industries in 1999, won “Best in Show.”
Montigne, a 152′ Feadship tri-deck motor yacht, won “People’s Choice Award.”
A brand-new Viking Sport Cruiser 75′ motor yacht won “Best Interior.”
YachtFest San Diego featured almost 30 yachts this year, along with seminars on chartering for West Coast destination trips, parties and more.
