METS 2005 set to break records

AMSTERDAM – The Marine Equipment Trade Show 2005 is set to be a record-breaker with more space, more exhibitors and a higher level of new participants than at any previous show, organizers reported in a release yesterday.

In its new larger venue within the Europa Complex at Amsterdam RAI, METS has been able to accept a 10 percent increase in exhibitors, incorporate a new specialist product pavilion and offer a greater choice of refreshment areas and business services.

The 2005 total of 1,045 exhibitors, compared to 941 in 2004, includes 245 new companies from around the world, all displaying products in many different fields. Newcomers have been carefully screened o ensure that they specialize in the serious marine trade equipment that visitors to METS expect to see, organizers said.

New for 2005 is the SuperYacht Pavilion, a cluster of 20 companies that supply equipment exclusively to the large vessel market. This type of product grouping, proven to be successful in the Marina Equipment and Composite pavilions – both of which are also to be found at METS this year – enables visitors and buyers to cover ground in their specialist areas more efficiently.

METS 2005 will be held Nov. 15-17. More information about METS can be found at the website www.metstrade.com.
