N.C. furniture company to launch marine division

HICKORY, N.C. – Furniture and bedding components manufacturer and supplier Hickory Springs will launch a marine products division to supply boat builders at the International Boatbuilders’ Exhibition & Conference 2005 in Miami, Oct. 19-21, the company reported in a statement today.

Hickory Springs Marine Group, a division of 60-year-old, North Carolina-based Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company, will have design and manufacturing capabilities at 55 company locations to meet the needs of boatbuilders across the country.

“As a well-established, national supplier of seating products, packaging materials, acoustical insulation, vinyl and converted materials, the Hickory Springs Marine group is uniquely positioned to supply a variety of component products to the boating industry,” said HSMG National Marketing Manager Mike Simmons.

HSMG’s products for boat builders include: ISO 9000 polyurethane foam pouring and fabrication for custom seating, panels, headers, and cushioning; polyester fibers for fire retardancy, acoustical properties as well as moisture wicking and resistance; foam and innerspring combination mattresses; engineered Sampson Webbing in seating for weight reduction, increased durability and added comfort; metal components engineered for space saving comfort and convenience; folding hide away wall bunk beds, folding hide away stairs, drop in seating, box springs, recliner mechanisms, coils, tubing, and springs; and PTI extruded polyethylene for edge protection in packaging and stringing for boat molds.
