MRAA Convention registration growing

OAK PARK, Ill. – The registrations for the 2005 Marine Retailers Association of America (MRAA) Annual Convention being held November 8-10, 2005 at the Stardust Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, are coming in “fast and furious” reported MRAA in a recent statement.

“The special incentive programs being offered by several local and state marine trades associations are in part responsible for this increase,” said MRAA Chairman Glenn Mazzella. “Lake Erie MTA, the Twin Cities Metropolitan MDA, and BTA of Metropolitan Houston have made attractive incentive packages available to their members. Their members are taking advantage of these programs.”

In addition, the MRAA-endorsed 20 Groups have been aggressively promoting the Challenge 1000, and MRAA said it’s seeing increased interest based on their efforts.

A number of boat manufacturers also have been showing a special DVD containing convention information, dealer certification information and an update on the Grow Boating Initiative. MRAA indicated this has increased inquires concerning the convention.

“The announcement of the participants in the Top 100 program by Boating Industry (to the participants only) has caused a spike in convention registration,” said MRAA President Phil Keeter. “These Top 100 dealers will be made known to the industry at a Gala sponsored by the Leadership Alliance on Thursday evening, November 11th. MRAA has invited all the Top 100 to participate in the convention and is receiving great response.

“MRAA wants all dealers to take advantage of the convention program – great speakers, relevant topics, important industry issues discussions and updates plus a once a year opportunity to network is available,” added Keeter. “The convention is open to all dealers, retailers, marina operators and manufacturers who want to attend. Association membership is not a prerequisite or requirement – just the desire to enhance our industry and become more profitable is required.”
