IBEX attendance expected to break record

BROOKLIN, Maine — The number of boatbuilding professionals who have pre-registered to attend the seminars at the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference (IBEX), October 19–21, is 26 percent higher than the total verified seminar participation in 2005, which included both pre-registered attendees and on-site registrations, organizers reported in a statement today.

The overall number of pre-registered attendees is also higher, leading show organizers to view this increase as an indication that attendance will be at an all-time high at IBEX 2005.

Factors that contribute to the increase in pre-registration include the increase in size of the IBEX exhibition and the outdoor demonstration area, as well at the exceptional quality of the ’05 seminar series and special events, according to organizers.

“Boatbuilding professionals worldwide realize they can’t miss IBEX,” explained Carl Cramer, show co-director. “IBEX is the largest gathering of the boatbuilding industry in the world, and it’s the best source for information, products and processes, and ideas.”

IBEX will be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Florida for the third year in a row, and features a free Pre-Conference Workshop series on Tuesday, October 18. Marine industry professionals who haven’t yet registered for IBEX by now will have to register on site.

“We expect IBEX to be very busy this year with events for both exhibitors and attendees,” said Kathleen Clickett, IBEX show co-director. “We’re encouraging everyone to plan their time at the show carefully.”

IBEX is owned and produced by Professional BoatBuilder magazine and National Marine Manufacturers Association. For more information, visit the IBEX Web site at www.ibexshow.com.
