Strictly Sail St. Petersburg relocates

St. Petersburg, Fla. — Strictly Sail St. Petersburg is moving to a new venue at Spa Beach, located at the base of The St. Petersburg Pier at 800 Second Ave., N.E. The four-day “Southern Sailabration of Sail” scheduled for Nov. 3-6, 2005, is the Gulf Coast’s largest and only all-sailboat show.

Formerly located at Vinoy Park and Basin, Strictly Sail St. Petersburg is moving because the Vinoy Marina suffered extensive damage during Hurricane Dennis and is likely to be under reconstruction in November.

“Strictly Sail St. Petersburg’s new venue at the base of The St. Petersburg Pier on the downtown city waterfront gives show-goers the chance to enjoy a fantastic sailing extravaganza in conjunction with The Pier’s great mix of upscale restaurants, shops and fun things to do,” said Kevin Murphy, national show manager. “Plus the magnificent views and Gulf Coast sunsets from The Pier makes it a perfect place to go sailing.”

Strictly Sail St. Petersburg expects the top names in the sailing industry-plus more than 170 exhibitors-who will display boats, gear, accessories, apparel, equipment and the latest in navigational systems and devices. Organizers say the show is expected to draw a record number of sailing enthusiasts from the entire Gulf Coast and its neighboring states. They will have the chance to climb aboard the nearly 100 new sailboats located at the show.
