Cobalt enters yacht market

NEODESHA, Kan. — In response to the requests of Cobalt customers and dealers, Cobalt Boats is getting into the design and construction of express cruisers with the launch of its new endeavor, Cobalt Yachts, the company reported in a statement yesterday.

The new company is working primarily in the identification of a plant site in the southeastern United States, as well as going through the selection process of key management team members, according to Cobalt Yachts.

Constantinos (Cos) Constantinou, until recently Cobalt Boats’ senior vice president of sales and marketing, has been appointed president of Cobalt Yachts.

“Cobalt is enthused to offer Cobalt Yachts,” said Pack St. Clair, founder of Cobalt.
“Current Cobalt owners have been asking for larger Cobalts for years. As such, it has been our intention to extend our product offering to include large Express Cruisers for some time now. Cobalt’s entry into the yacht segment could not have been better timed. We’re excited about our ability to soon offer a range of products to meet the very high standards and expectations of today’s discriminating yacht buyers wishing to own something special.”

Cobalt Boats builds about 2,500 runabouts and performance cruisers per year at its world headquarters in Neodesha.
