LEMTA again offers free airfare to MRAA convention

OAK PARK, Ill. – The Lake Erie Marine Trades Association will make free round-trip airfare from Cleveland to Las Vegas available to all its members who register for the Marine Retailers Association of America’s annual convention, MRAA said recently in a release.

The group will travel non-stop on Continental Airlines in time to attend the Marine One Show and the opening of the convention, which is to be held Nov. 8-10 at the Stardust Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

“We believe the MRAA convention is currently the top industry gathering,” said Norm Schultz, LEMTA president. “With a good agenda and an excellent opportunity for our members to network with other dealers and manufacturers, we want our members to benefit from all that and we’re emphasizing it simply by providing a strong incentive for them to attend.”

LEMTA becomes the second marine trades association to join in the second phase of the Challenge 1000. In June, the Twin Cities Metro Marine Dealers Association announced it would pay registration fees and lodging costs for the first twelve of its members to sign up.

Challenge 1000 was designed by a segment of dealers who are MRAA 20 Group members that want to see 1,000 dealers attend the annual convention. They saw the need for education that the convention provides. They also want to create unity and make progress on key industry issues.

“It is our hope that more of the state marine trades associations will join in the Challenge 1000 with incentive packages,” said Phil Keeter, MRAA president. “Once again, LEMTA, as a leading association, has stepped forward and answered the call.”
