ACMA sets date for fall meeting

OAK PARK, Ill. – The Advisory Council of Marine Associations has scheduled its fall meeting for Tuesday, Nov. 8, at the Stardust Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, the Marine Retailers Association of America said in a recent release.

ACMA is an advisory council of marine trade associations that proposes recommendations and resolutions on industry issues to be presented to the MRAA Board of Directors for consideration.

ACMA Chairman, Chris Squeri, executive director of the New York Marine Trades Association, is urging all local, state and regional marine associations to attend.

“This meeting is open to all MTA executives and/or officers,” he said. “It is a huge opportunity to share and get updates on important industry issues. It’s a can’t miss type of meeting.”

This year’s meeting will include discussions on the proposed NHSTA regulations on boat trailer weights, the newly formed Grow Boating Initiative Water Access Task Force, and dealer certification program.

A review of the manufacturer’s new dealer agreement language and its usage by manufacturers should be a highlight.

The meeting is being held prior to the opening on Tuesday evening of the Marine Retailers Association of America’s annual convention.

Registration packets have been sent to all trade associations. The packets include: agenda, biographies on speakers, and registration information. Those who haven’t received one should contact the MRAA office by phone at 708-763-2910; by fax at 708-763-9236; or by email mraa@mraa.com.
