MAATS Innovation Awards judges named
CHICAGO – The National Marine Manufacturers Association and Boating Writers International have named the judges for the NMMA Innovation Awards being presented at the Marine Aftermarket Accessories Trade Show, according to a statement from the NMMA Friday.
MAATS is being held July 20-22 at the Las Vegas Hilton & Convention Center.
The judges’ committee is comprised of members of BWI who perform product testing throughout the year and have specific expertise in marine accessories. Serving on the committee for this year’s MAATS Innovation Awards are:
“These judges have a broad base of experience and have seen many, many, products over their years in the marine business,” Marshall said. “They provide impartial judging to all products regardless of the size of the company entering the product.”
Up to nine new marine accessories will receive Innovation awards at MAATS, recognizing the most innovative products from the following categories:
NMMA and BWI will also recognize one product with the new Environmental Innovation Award, recognizing an environmentally-friendly product that benefits the entire industry and consumers.
“We want to recognize those companies that are going above and beyond to enhance the boating experience, and we hope this award will spur more environmental innovation,” said Monita Fontaine, who suggested the introduction of the award and is NMMA vice president of government relations.
