MTA/NJ holds Bring a Buddy Boating week

BRICK, N.J. – New Jersey boaters can share their enthusiasm for boating by planning to bring their “buddies” to one of the many “Bring a Buddy Boating” events at marinas, dealers and dock ‘n dine restaurants across the state during “Bring A Buddy Boating” week, July 11-17.

“Bring a Buddy Boating” week is a campaign that focuses on encouraging
current boaters to bring their friends, coworkers and others to participate in special events, open houses and boating activities at marinas and out on the water.

The initiative was created in 2004 through a collaborative effort among the MTA/NJ,
Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation, New Jersey Department of Transportation Office of Maritime Resources, the New Jersey Office of Travel & Tourism and Creative Marketing Alliance. The goal of the campaign is to increase participation in boating and bring overall awareness to the general public that boating is an easily accessible and fun recreational activity for people to spend time together, travel together, vacation together and make memories together.

“We hope boaters will take advantage of this special week in July and share the excitement of boating with others,” said Melissa Danko, executive director of the MTA/NJ. “A strong and growing boating industry will benefit everyone that enjoys
the beautiful waterways of New Jersey.”
