Digital fishfinder sales drive growth at Raymarine

MERRIMACK, N.H. – At marine electronics firm Raymarine, sales of its High Definition digital fishfinders are growing at a year-over-year rate of more than 60 percent, the company reported in a recent statement.

Raymarine attributes this to broad consumer demand for products that offer a High Definition quality experience. In fact, the company is organizing its business around the integration of its HD technology into other product lines.

“Today’s marine electronics companies must keep pace with the phenomenal technology developments transforming how we live, work and play. Our first generation digital fishfinders were a giant leap forward for these products — the first major change in more than 30 years. The impact they’ve had in the fishing community is considerable,” said Todd Hoskins, senior vice president of Marketing, Americas. “As the leading technology change agent within the marine electronics industry, we believe strongly in the power of HD Digital technologies to not only improve the recreational and competitive fishing experience but redefine the entire boating industry.”

They are rapidly replacing analog systems that have hindered product performance and consumers’ experience on the water, according to the company. HD Digital is an ingredient in a broadening range of Raymarine’s products, from its family of compact A-Series fishfinders to its C- and E-series multifunction navigation displays.

“The definition and accuracy provided by HD Digital is far superior to analog,” said Tom Mann Jr., a champion angler who has competed in nearly 60 events and credits Raymarine’s HD Digital with helping him to win the National FLW Bass Tournament. “HD Digital gives you more of a real-time experience; you see what you’re supposed to, when you’re supposed to. As a competitive fisherman, that’s invaluable, and it’s been a key component in my tournament successes.”
