METS wins US Trade Fair Certification

AMSTERDAM – The United States (US) Commercial Service (CS) of the U.S. Department of Commerce has endorsed the benefits of American companies exhibiting at the Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) 2005, a trade exhibition of marine equipment and accessories for the leisure marine and small commercial craft sector, by giving the show its Trade Fair Certification status, METS organizers reported in a statement today.

The certification guarantees the event has CS support in both the United States and Europe and will enable U.S. exhibitors in the U.S. Pavilion at METS to get even more out of the show by working with CS trade experts to find the right buyers and partners.

The Trade Fair Certification program seeks to expand the export base for U.S. companies by introducing them to key trade fairs where they can meet their export objectives. The U.S. CS, based in Holland, believes the Netherlands to be the ‘gateway to Europe’ and that METS offers U.S. companies excellent opportunities.

METS product manager, Irene Dros, commented: “The certification makes METS an even more attractive show for American companies, both as visitors and exhibitors. We have always enjoyed good exhibitor support from US companies and, over the past twelve years, exhibitor numbers have risen by almost 30 percent. For 2005, more U.S. companies than ever before have reserved space.”
