Knight & Carver expanding its workforce

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – With several significant megayacht repair/refit projects already booked for the remainder of 2005 and beyond, Knight & Carver YachtCenter is expanding its workforce by hiring project managers and craftsmen in all marine trades – including carpentry, electrical, electronics, paint, fairing, mechanical and fiberglass, the company reported in a recent statement.

Currently, the 160-employee company is performing a major refit of the 192-foot M/Y Ronin, owned by Oracle founder/CEO Larry Ellison. Several more megayachts, sized from 120 feet to more than 300 feet, are scheduled to be serviced at Knight & Carver over the next year, according to Knight & Carver President/CEO Sampson A. Brown.

“We have always prided ourselves on the quality of our marine craftsmen,” said Brown. “We believe they rank among the finest in the world, which is one of the reasons these megayachts have chosen to come to our facility. Because of this influx of megayachts, we seek to further strengthen our workforce with the addition of top project managers and craftsmen who will bring us their knowledge, experience and commitment.”
